Come hai scelto Xenios come partner tecnico?
Interview with Jörg Reißner and Gregor Müller, founders of their new training center
From their passion for CrossFit to the desire to create a space without compromises: Jörg Reißner and Gregor Müller share how years of experience in the training world led them to bring an ambitious project to life, designed to combine CrossFit, HYROX, fitness, and recovery in one environment.
What is your name and what is your role?
We are Jörg Reißner and Gregor Müller, founders and owners of the box. We share the same passion for CrossFit and decided to turn our years of experience as athletes into a project built around our own vision of training.
What is your background?
Our journey began first and foremost with our passion for CrossFit. We have been practicing the sport for 14 and 12 years respectively, and over time it has become an important part of our lives.
Years of training have allowed us to gain an in-depth understanding of this world, its needs, and our own idea of what a modern facility should offer. It was precisely this personal experience and our shared passion for sport that inspired us to create something of our own.
When and why did you decide to open your studio?
The decision came in December 2024, during a four-hour car journey to a competition. During those hours, we began seriously discussing the idea of opening our own box and how we wanted to build it.
That conversation turned an idea into a concrete project. We shared the same vision and realized that the time had come to create a space that truly represented the way we experience sport.
What motivated you to open a gym?
Over the years, we saw many facilities start out in small spaces and later find themselves limited in their growth: not enough room to train, small locker rooms and showers, or difficulties managing noise and dropped weights.
For this reason, we decided to start with a different vision. We wanted a large, versatile facility capable from day one of integrating CrossFit, HYROX, traditional gym training, proper locker rooms and showers, as well as a dedicated recovery area.
Our goal was to avoid compromises and create a complete, functional environment from the very beginning, designed to offer people a variety of training opportunities.
How did you choose Xenios as your technical partner?
Before making our decision, we gathered several recommendations and spoke with three different brands. Naturally, equipment quality was a fundamental requirement, but the personal relationship also played an important role in our final choice.
In particular, Thomas Di Maria proved to be a key point of contact from the very beginning, supporting us with expertise and availability while understanding the needs of our project. This approach gave us the confidence that we had found not just an equipment supplier, but a partner with whom we could build our space.
What were the main obstacles?
If we had to rank them, the top three places would all be occupied by the same word: bureaucracy!
It was undoubtedly the most complex and demanding part of the entire process. Bringing a project of this size to life involves many organizational and practical challenges, but bureaucracy was the one that required the most patience, time, and energy. Everything else seemed considerably easier by comparison.
How did Xenios support you?
Xenios, and Thomas in particular, provided us with practical support in designing the space and selecting the equipment, helping us understand which solutions and quantities were best suited to our needs.
Their guidance was extremely valuable in turning our idea into a functional space that reflected the experience we wanted to offer. Unfortunately, not even Xenios could save us from the bureaucracy—that was a battle we had to fight on our own!
What is the mission of your project?
We want to create a place where people genuinely enjoy training, regardless of the type of activity they prefer, giving them the space, equipment, and different opportunities they need to achieve their goals.
At the same time, we do not see our project as something that will ever be completely finished. The fitness world is constantly changing, new disciplines emerge, and people’s needs evolve. We want to grow alongside the industry, continuing to listen to our community and adapting the facility to whatever the future may bring.
That is our mission: not simply to build a gym, but to create a space capable of evolving together with the people who experience it every day.
