Interview with the Owner

Interview with Jörg Reißner and Gregor Müller, founders of their new training center

From a passion for CrossFit to the desire to create a space with no compromises: Jörg Reißner and Gregor Müller explain how years of experience in the world of fitness led them to launch an ambitious project designed to bring together CrossFit, HYROX, fitness, and recovery in a single environment.

What is your name and what is your role?

We are Jörg Reißner and Gregor Müller, the founders and owners of the box. We share the same passion for CrossFit, and we decided to turn our years of experience as athletes into a project built around our vision of training.

What is your background?

Our journey began, first and foremost, with a passion for CrossFit. We’ve been practicing this sport for 14 and 12 years, respectively, and over time, it has become an important part of our lives.

Years of training have allowed us to gain an intimate understanding of this world, grasp its needs, and develop our own vision of what a modern facility should offer. It was precisely this personal experience and our shared passion for sports that sparked the desire to create something of our own.

When and why did you decide to open your own practice?

The decision came in December 2024, during a roughly four-hour drive to a competition. During those hours, we began to seriously discuss the idea of opening our own pit and how we wanted to make it happen.

That conversation turned an idea into a concrete project. We shared the same vision and realized that the time had come to try to create a space that truly reflected our approach to sports.

What motivated you to open a gym?

Over the years, we’ve seen many facilities start out in small spaces and later find their growth limited: not enough space to train, cramped locker rooms and showers, or difficulties managing noise and the clatter of weights.

That’s why we decided to start with a different vision. We wanted a spacious and versatile facility that, right from the start, could incorporate CrossFit, HYROX, a traditional gym, adequate locker rooms and showers, as well as an area dedicated to recovery.

The goal was not to have to compromise, but to create, right from the start, a comprehensive, functional environment designed to offer people a variety of training options.

How did you choose Xenios as your technical partner?

Before making a decision, we gathered various recommendations and compared options with other brands. Of course, the quality of the equipment was a key requirement, but the personal relationship also played a significant role in our final decision.

In particular, Thomas Di Maria proved from the very beginning to be a key figure, guiding us with willingness and expertise and understanding the needs of our project. This approach gave us the confidence that we had found not just an equipment supplier, but a partner with whom to build our space.

What were the main obstacles?

If we were to rank them, the top three spots would all be taken by the same word: bureaucracy!

It was undoubtedly the most complex and demanding part of the entire process. Carrying out a project of this scale involves numerous organizational and practical aspects, but the bureaucratic procedures were the challenge that required the most patience, time, and energy. Everything else, by comparison, seemed much simpler.

How has Xenios supported you?

Xenios—and Thomas in particular—provided us with practical support in designing the space and selecting the equipment, helping us understand which solutions and quantities were best suited to our needs.

It was an invaluable collaboration that helped us transform our idea into a functional space consistent with the kind of experience we wanted to offer. Unfortunately, not even Xenios could save us from the bureaucracy—we had to fight that battle on our own!

What is the mission of your project?

We want to create a place where people truly enjoy working out, regardless of the type of activity they prefer, by offering them a variety of spaces, equipment, and opportunities to achieve their goals.

At the same time, we don’t view our project as something that’s definitively complete. The fitness world is constantly changing; new disciplines are emerging, and people’s needs are evolving. We want to grow alongside this industry, continuing to listen to our community and adapting our structure to whatever the future may bring.

Our mission is precisely this: to build not just a gym, but a space that can evolve alongside the people who use it every day.

When and why did you decide to open your studio?

The decision came in December 2024, during a four-hour car journey to a competition. During those hours, we began seriously discussing the idea of opening our own box and how we wanted to build it.

That conversation turned an idea into a concrete project. We shared the same vision and realized that the time had come to create a space that truly represented the way we experience sport.

What motivated you to open a gym?

Over the years, we saw many facilities start out in small spaces and later find themselves limited in their growth: not enough room to train, small locker rooms and showers, or difficulties managing noise and dropped weights.

For this reason, we decided to start with a different vision. We wanted a large, versatile facility capable from day one of integrating CrossFit, HYROX, traditional gym training, proper locker rooms and showers, as well as a dedicated recovery area.

Our goal was to avoid compromises and create a complete, functional environment from the very beginning, designed to offer people a variety of training opportunities.

How did you choose Xenios as your technical partner?

Before making our decision, we gathered several recommendations and spoke with three different brands. Naturally, equipment quality was a fundamental requirement, but the personal relationship also played an important role in our final choice.

In particular, Thomas Di Maria proved to be a key point of contact from the very beginning, supporting us with expertise and availability while understanding the needs of our project. This approach gave us the confidence that we had found not just an equipment supplier, but a partner with whom we could build our space.

What were the main obstacles?

If we had to rank them, the top three places would all be occupied by the same word: bureaucracy!

It was undoubtedly the most complex and demanding part of the entire process. Bringing a project of this size to life involves many organizational and practical challenges, but bureaucracy was the one that required the most patience, time, and energy. Everything else seemed considerably easier by comparison.

Xenios, and Thomas in particular, provided us with practical support in designing the space and selecting the equipment, helping us understand which solutions and quantities were best suited to our needs.

What is the mission of your project?

We want to create a place where people genuinely enjoy training, regardless of the type of activity they prefer, giving them the space, equipment, and different opportunities they need to achieve their goals.

At the same time, we do not see our project as something that will ever be completely finished. The fitness world is constantly changing, new disciplines emerge, and people’s needs evolve. We want to grow alongside the industry, continuing to listen to our community and adapting the facility to whatever the future may bring.

That is our mission: not simply to build a gym, but to create a space capable of evolving together with the people who experience it every day.
