When did you decide to open your box?
My name is Ignacio Aragonés, and although my life has always been connected to sports, I only started practicing CrossFit in 2018. I have participated in various sports, including artistic gymnastics, and I was a karate instructor for several years. I also taught acrobatics and aerial silks.
I started CrossFit as a regular member in a box in my area with the goal of complementing my gymnastics training. But from the very beginning, I became so passionate about it that I was offered the opportunity to collaborate with the box, obtaining my Level 1 certification and teaching beginner and gymnastics fundamentals classes.
Why did you decide to open your box?
Gradually, I became more and more involved in CrossFit, to the point where I was offered co-ownership. That’s when I made the decision to leave my professional career as an Agricultural Engineer after 13 years dedicated to Research and Development in the livestock and food industry.
From that moment, I focused on improving the box and decided to expand the business, embarking on this small but significant project called CrossFit Century, a dream that has yet to grow further.
CrossFit Century was primarily born out of passion and enthusiasm to start a unique and personal project. Supported mainly by my family, without whom none of this would have been possible, and my closest circle, I decided to pursue this dream and create a large and special space dedicated to CrossFit.
The idea of bringing together a COMMUNITY of people without distinction of age, race, gender, or condition to practice sports together, laugh, have fun, shout, release stress, and disconnect, while maintaining our main goal, which is health, fills me with great pride. But what we love the most, and what drives us to work every day, is seeing people overcome their insecurities and feel better about themselves.
How did you choose the company that helped you in this mission?
Xenios USA was recommended to me by friends who already used their equipment in their own boxes. I had the opportunity to train with Xenios USA equipment, and the feedback from my friends played an important role in choosing the supplier.
What were the challenges you encountered in realizing your dream?
The beginnings of any entrepreneurial endeavor are not easy, but when we talk about transforming a space of over 2300 square meters and changing its purpose from an old cinema to a sports facility, the situation becomes even more complicated.
From my first visit, I felt excited imagining the use of every corner of the venue. It is a space with infinite possibilities, but what I hadn’t considered were all the problems that could arise.
The infrastructure is not an open warehouse like most boxes located in industrial areas, but rather a very particular space divided into rooms, with movie screens, stairs, marble, etc. Additionally, it is located on the second floor of a shopping center and does not have a floor specifically designed to absorb the typical impacts of this sport.
How did Xenios USA help you overcome the obstacles?
Xenios USA has been by my side from the beginning. Gabriele and Alvaro helped me select the equipment based on the unique characteristics of our venue, the number of users, and their levels.
I also want to thank all my friends who helped me install the equipment day and night, making it possible to fulfill this dream. With this area of over 2300 square meters, we decided to make a big bet and face the challenge of creating a multifunctional space focused on sports and health, not just CrossFit.
What were your thoughts on the first day you opened your box?
Well, you might be wondering why a cinema, right? The opportunity arose to use this special space that had been closed for almost 3 years, and we had to seize it. Additionally, in this way, we had the opportunity to revitalize the old shopping center (which was over 20 years old) that was in decline with half of the stores closed.
Thanks to everyone who joined the project, we managed to form this small but great family that we are today, and we continue to welcome new members.

¿Cuándo decidiste abrir tu box?
Mi nombre es Ignacio Aragonés y aunque mi vida siempre ha estado vinculada al deporte, comencé a practicar CrossFit en el año 2018. He practicado todo tipo de deportes como gimnasia deportiva y he llegado a ser sensei de kárate durante varios años e impartir clases de portes acrobáticos y telas aéreas.
En CrossFit empecé como un usuario más en un box de mi zona con el objetivo de complementar mis entrenamientos de gimnasia deportiva y aéreos, pero desde el primer momento me enganchó tanto que me propusieron colaborar con el box sacándome el Level 1 y empezar a impartir clases de iniciacion y gimnásticos.
¿Por qué decidiste abrir tu box?
Poco a poco me fui implicando cada vez más hasta que me propusieron ser co-proprietario. Así terminé tomando la decisión d edejar mi carrera profesional como Ingeniero Agrónomo después de 13 años dedicándome a I+D en el sector de la ganadería e industria alimentaria.
A partir de ese momento me centré en ir implementando mejoras en elprimer box hasta que decidí ampliar el negocio y me embarqué en este pequeño gran proyecto que ya tiene forma y se llama CrossFit Century, un sueño hecho realidad que todavía tiene que crecer mucho.
CrossFit Century nace principalmente de la pasion y la ilusión de emprender un proyecto único y personal. Apoyado principalmente por mi familia, sin la que nada de esto habría sido posible, y por mi entorno más cercano decidí embarcarme en este sueño y emprender creando un espacio tan grande como especial dedicado al CrossFit.
La idea de poder reunir una COMUNIDAD de personas sin distinción de edad, raza, sexo o condición para que puedan practicar deporte juntos, se rian, disfruten, griten, se desahoguen y desconecten mientras se consigue mantener nuestro principal objetivo, la salud. Conseguir todo esto manteniendo activo a todo el que se pone en nuestras manos es todo un orgullo, pero encima ver que consiguen superarse, quitarse complejos y sentirse mejor consigo mismos es lo que más nos gusta y nos anima a seguir trabajando día a día.
¿Cómo elegiste la empresa que te ayudó en esta misión?
Xenios me lo recomendaron amigos que ya usaban el material en su box. Tuve la oportunidad de entrenarme con el material Xenios USA y el feedback de mis amigos fue importante en la elección del proveedor.
¿Cuáles fueron los obstáculos que encontraste para hacer realidad tu sueño?
Los inicios de cualquier negocio no son fáciles, pero si encima hablamos de transformar un espacio de más de 2300 m2 y cambiar su uso de un antiguo cine a un centro deportivo, la cosa se complica todavía más.
Desde que hice la primera visita me emocioné imaginándome el uso de cada rincón del local. Es un espacio con infinitas posibilidades, pero lo que no me vino a la cabeza fueron todos los problemas que iban a pensamientos.
La infraestructura nos es una nave diáfana como la que se encuentran la mayoría de los boxes ubicados en polígonos industriales, nosostros nos encontramos un espacio mucho más singular, dividido en diferentes salas, con pantallas de cine, escaleras, mármol, etc. Además de estar ubicado en la segunda planta de un centro comercial y sin ningun tipo de suelo preparado para absorber los impactos propios de esta disciplina deportiva.
¿Cómo te ha aydado Xenios USA a superar los obstáculos?
Xenios USA ha estado a mi lado desde el principio. Gabriele y Alvaro me ayudaron en la selección del material en función de nuestro local muy particular, del número de usuarios y de sus niveles.
Doy las gracias a todos mis amigos que me ayudaron a montar material día y noche fue posible materializar este sueño. Con esta superficie de más de 2300 metros, decidimos hacer una gran apuesta y asumir el gran reto de crear un espacio multifuncional orientado al deporte y salud, no únicamente a CrossFit.
¿Qué pensaste el primer día que abriste tu Box?
¿Bueno, porque un cine, os preguntaréis? Se nos dio el caso y la oportunidad de dar uso a este espacio tan especial que llevaba casi 3 años cerrado y teníamos que aprovecharlo. Además, asi hemos tenido la oportunidad de dinamizar y reactivar en cierta manera el antiguo centro comercial (de más de 20 años) que estaba en declive y con la mitad de los locales cerrados.
Gracias a todos los que se han ido sumando al proyecto hemos conseguido formar esta pequeña gran familia que somos a día de hoy, seguimos y seguiremos sumando.
