Let’s Smile Again

The 26th of September marked the conclusion of the 2021 edition of Rimini Wellness.

The event was a great success, almost unexpected given the many penalizations suffered by the sector due to the pandemic. We were present at the expo with our 350 mq training area, 20 free training classes, and our specialized coaches, registering a very high participation in the pursuit of a healthy lifestyle and training.

Furthermore, the visitors could entertain themselves with many activities from a wide array of disciplines. The schedule efficiently spaced out the holistic arts, training courses, spectacles, trainings and much more, guaranteeing everyone the right mix between fun and curiosity. Between one WOD and the other, it was impossible to not notice the passion and happiness of the thousands of people present at Wellness, a symbol of how Covid didn’t compromise or modify the spirit of sportive people. In any case, our hope is that the last 3 days will serve as a launching pad for future events and that it wasn’t an isolated event in this “new, post-pandemic” world.

The next edition has already been set for the 2nd to the 5th of June 2022 and we honestly can’t wait. In the meantime, we’ll do everything it takes to participate in similar occasions, hoping that the health situation can continue to improve in Italy and around the world.

Italian Showdown, a pleasant surprise

This year, the expo wanted to expand its own offer, hosting in an unexpected way one of the most popular CrossFit® competitions in Europe: the Italian Showdown 2021. Those present were fortunate enough to witness hundreds of the best athletes in Europe in this sector.

The elimination phase gave way to the races done on Friday the 24th. It was held live and included people of all genders and age, called to face 3 different matches. The top 234 participants obtained access to the next phase, held on both Saturday and Sunday. The sum of the points obtained in the 3 days (in a total of 8 events) gave the final rankings, this time divided by age and gender. See the results on Competition Corner.

Lastly, an off-ranking challenge was held for the first time between the 5 best men and the 5 best women of the individual category, aimed at declaring the final Champion of the Showdown. The winners, Giulio Perpetuo and Michelle Turco, didn’t just bring home the glory, but also a prize of 1000 Euro in addition to an Assault Bike offered by Xenios USA. The uniqueness of this special competition was given by the fact that the workouts to be done were a surprise and, therefore, communicated at the last minute.
